Olive Tree Campaign

As Christmas approaches, WDRF is encouraganing every Irish Methodist Church to take part in the Olive Tree Campaign. Due to the occupation of Palestinian land, many farmers are losing their olive trees which may have been in the family for centuries. Churches and individuals can replace some of these olive trees through the campaign.

Advent Service materials including PowerPoint Slides and Children's Talk are available for downloading from the World Development & Relief Website.

24-7 Prayer

"We have been blessed and challenged by our experience of 24-7 prayer and are asking what next?" says 24-7 Prayer Co-ordinator, Gillian Best and challenges us with these three questions:

• How can you as a church take prayer to the streets of your community?
• Do you see opportunities outside your church building?
• Who can you work with?

Pin the Church on the Map!

Remember the pin the tail on the donkey game?

Here's a version which will help with placing church locations ready for the new website. Can you check the location of your local church and contact online@irishmethodist.org to place the pins accurately. Some churches haven't been placed at all yet so please help.

My Local News :

www.mylocalnews.ie is a community based local news website has recently been established to give a strong voice to local communities throughout Ireland today.

The information service is free of charge to non profit and voluntary organisations. The website is funded through local and national banner and classified advertising.

If you're interested in this free service you can see an example of it in action where Rev Jim Rea is currently using it to post his newsletter on the Belfast North page.
